Public Transport

The Freedom Serviced Apartments are located just 50 metres  from Caís do Sodré Station, a public transport hub, with links to many destinations, both within and outside the city of Lisbon.

The days of relying on Caravels (Portuguese two-masted boats) to carry you from one bank of the river to the other  have long since gone. Today you can take modern ferry boats ("cacilheiros"). Trains take you to other parts of the country, while the subway, or metro as it is known locally, takes you around the city of Lisbon.  There are also street cars, buses and other public transport links at Caís do Sodré station.

Subway

Cais do Sodré station is a 2-minute walk from your apartment. Just a few minutes ride will take you to any point in the city, in comfort and without  the usual delays of traffic.

Urban trains

A fast and reliable train service takes you down river, alongside the River Tagus, to the Atlantic Ocean and in  minutes, you will be on your way out of the city to enjoy Cascais and its beaches, again taking a comfortable journey without the hassle of coping with road traffic. The Sintra Line station is also close to the apartments and you can enjoy a trip to one of the most beautiful Portuguese towns.

Buses

Flexibility is yours with eighteen different bus lines within a 2-minute walk from the apartment building.

Modern transport with a history

Modern transport and with a history. Enjoy both the traditional streetcars and the modern ones, all within a 2-minute walk of the apartments.

The far bank of the River Tagus

Cacilhas, Almada, Caparica. The Tagus River boat from the remodelled Cais do Sodré station will take you from the  delightsof the city and the river to the famous beaches of Costa da Caparica.
